Community Corrections Division, Tumwater, WA. This is an internal recruitment, open to current, permanent WA State Dept of Corrections employees only. Our agency is looking to internally fill a full-time, permanent Corrections Specialist 3 (CS3) iCoach position within the Community Corrections Division. This position works for the Interstate Compact Unit located at 7345 Linderson Way SW, Tumwater, WA 98501. Although this position may be allocated for telework up to four days each week, travel to headquarters, work sites, institutions, courts, and other locations related to case management will be required. The Interstate Compact Unit is responsible for ensuring the State of Washington complies with the Interstate Commission for Adult Supervision (ICAOS) Rules and RCW 9.94A.745. The CS3 in the Interstate Compact Unit will be responsible for case management of individuals sentenced in Washington State that are supervised out of state under the Interstate Compact. The position will also provide statewide support for administration of the Interstate Compact, helping to ensure that DOC staff, as well as city and county court staff and Probation Officers throughout the state, comply with the rules of the Compact. Shift hours are Monday-Friday, 0800-1700. Duties

Complete, manage, or assist with the administration of the Interstate Compact within Washington State, as assigned by the Deputy Compact Administrator. Navigate and be proficient in the Interstate Compact Offender Tracking System (ICOTS) and Interstate Commission for Adult Supervision (ICAOS) Rules. Provide instructions and assistance to Community Corrections Officers, city and county court staff, and probation officers regarding the Interstate Compact, ICAOS rules, and ICOTS. Provide case management for out of state (OOS) offenders. Manage electronic and hard copy case management files. Other duties as assigned and necessary.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two years of experience as a Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) or CCO3 with the Washington State Department of Corrections.
• One year of experience in a position in which the primary job responsibility is working with Interstate Compact cases.
• Thorough, demonstrated understanding of current ICAOS Rules and processes.
• And must possess and maintain a vehicles operator's license valid in the state of Washington.

OR:

• A bachelor's degree or higher from a college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the US Department of Education or foreign equivalent.
• Three years of professional case management experience in adult or juvenile corrections or closely related field that includes at least three of the following:
• Making field visits
• Writing reports
• Assessing cases and making recommendations
• Referring people to appropriate resources
• Presenting cases in court or hearings.
• One year of experience in a position in which the primary job responsibility is working with Interstate Compact cases.
• Thorough, demonstrated understanding of current ICAOS Rules and processes.
• And must possess and maintain a vehicles operator's license valid in the state of Washington.

OR:

• A master's degree in sociology, social work, psychology, criminology, or closely related from an accredited institution.
• Two years of professional case management experience in adult or juvenile corrections or closely related field that includes at least three of the following:
• Making field visits
• Writing reports
• Assessing cases and making recommendations
• Referring people to appropriate resources
• Presenting cases in court or hearings.
• One year of experience in a position in which the primary job responsibility is working with Interstate Compact cases.
• Thorough, demonstrated understanding of current ICAOS Rules and processes.
• And must possess and maintain a vehicles operator's license valid in the state of Washington.

Case management activities include assessment of risk factors; designing, monitoring and/or facilitating treatment plans; determining and making referrals to resources as appropriate (chemical dependency, substance abuse, family counseling, job training assistance, etc.); maintaining official records and tracking client progress/compliance; and assisting individuals who are unable to independently access support systems or community resources. Working with Interstate Compact cases includes activities such as: assigned supervision of From Out of State (FOS) cases; processing Reporting Instructions/Transfer Requests; updating warrant status in ICOTS.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years of experience in a position in which the primary job responsibility is working with Interstate Compact cases.
• Current or previous NCIC certification and ICOTS access.
• Completed the most recent ICAOS training modules.
• Previous experience representing unit/program as a liaison/stakeholder.
• Courtroom/revocation testimony experience.
