We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.In the role of Project Controls Area Lead, we'll count on you to: Host lunch and learns, organizational meetings, support general awareness initiatives of project controlsSupport business group, market sector, or other needs the area has of project controls as area first point of contactRepresents the area to the region and national leadership, able to take direction from the leadership back down to the areaAwareness of the 6 service lines within Project Controls, ability to support project planning efforts on how to align services, options, and strategyBuild future project controls leaders and identify development opportunities for staffWhile maintaining work on specific projects to include: Partner with designers, contractors, inspectors and other third-party entities to proactively identify, communicate and resolve scope and pricing variancesEstablish a procedural framework for preparing, reporting and reconciling variances, including developing and/or enhancing reporting procedures and toolsManage and enforce adherence to project controls practices and procedures, including change management and records managementDevelop and monitor key performance indicators and report to project and program staff and clientProactively seek collaboration and cooperationSet up and lead coordination meetingsReview project change documentation and ensure compliance with change procedures and contract specificationsEstablish project schedules, forecast and cost controls proceduresPerform other duties as needed Interpret drawings and specifications to extract scope quantities Preferred QualificationsDegree in Construction, engineering or related fieldCertifications (one or more): CPE, CEP, PSP, EVP, PMI-SP, PMP, CCM, PRMP, DRMP, CFCC, PE, MCSA: BI ReportingAbility to interpret construction schedulesQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degreeA minimum of 7 years of experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and project reportsAbility to manage proposal preparation, contract review and negotiation, client relationship and win strategy for medium to large EPC ProjectsStrong decision-making skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term tasks simultaneouslyStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong oral and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustSponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this positionWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
