As a Senior Assistant Store Manager of Sales and Retail Engagement, you’ll lead the sales floor team/ This includes sales, design, and customer experience to create seamless, welcoming shopping journeys. What Does a Sr. Assistant Store Manager Do?

• Lead Sales & Design Teams: Directly manage and develop the sales floor team, including managers, sales associates, designers, and customer experience specialists, ensuring customers receive top-notch support and service.

• Be a Senior Operational Partner: Serve as a key-holder and senior support across Assistant Store Manager duties, especially in specialty areas like appliances, home improvement, and mattresses, to keep store operations running smoothly.

• Unite Store Teams: Collaborate across Salesfloor, Logistics, Visual, Asset Protection, Talent, and more to align goals and execute store-wide initiatives that elevate customer experience and business success.

• Champion Customer Experience: Deliver authentic, friendly service while coaching your team to build complex, connected solutions that balance speed with personalized attention.

• Drive Sales & Results: Partner with the General Manager to optimize our store processes, manage profitability, control labor expenses, and translate data into actionable coaching and team improvements.

• Foster Collaboration & Culture: Create a positive, team-first environment by encouraging cross-functional collaboration and continuous growth among Associates, Specialists, and Designers.

• Own Floor Operations: Maintain strong leadership presence as Manager on Duty handling scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and ensuring the right team is in the right place at the right time.

• Innovate & Improve: Contribute ideas for new tools, processes, and technologies that help your teams work smarter and more efficiently.

• Manage Multiple Priorities: Stay organized and communicate clearly while juggling fast-paced demands and following through on action plans.

• Partner with Home Office: Work closely with corporate teams to share insights and support store performance enhancements.

• Proven Leadership: 5+ years managing large teams in fast-paced, high-volume retail or specialty selling environments, where you led with confidence and clear direction.

• Operational Excellence: Experience driving processes and operations as designed, with a knack for optimizing workflows and boosting team performance.

• Analytical Mindset: Comfortable diving into data, interpreting KPIs, and making smart, data-driven decisions to continuously improve results.

• People Developer: Skilled at coaching, mentoring, and motivating others, fostering growth and accountability with empathy and professionalism.

• Cross-Team Collaborator: Able to bring together multiple teams and functions, aligning diverse stakeholders behind a common goal.

• Tech Confident: Comfortable using Google Suite, inventory management systems, and ready to quickly learn new tools that empower your team.

• Flexible & Dependable: Willing to work varied retail hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business and customer needs.

• Hands-On Attitude: Ready to jump in on the floor or in the back of the house, whether it’s stocking shelves, managing inventory, or helping with physical tasks.

Additional Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.

• Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.

• Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.

• Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

• Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.

• Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.

• Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards—must adhere to all safety protocols.
