Import Specialist

Altius Talent are partnering with an international freight forwarder with a strong global presence and reputation for delivering reliable, customer-focused logistics solutions. The business provides tailored import services across air and ocean freight to a diverse and growing client base. Position Summary: Altius Talent is seeking an experienced Import Specialist on behalf of our client in Miami. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end import shipments, ensuring compliance with all international regulations while delivering a high level of customer service. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage international import shipments from arrival through to final delivery Handle import documentation including bills of lading, arrival notices, and customs entries Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations and customs requirements Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and customers Track and trace shipments, providing timely updates to clients Monitor shipment progress and resolve delays or issues proactivelyWork closely with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance processes Maintain accurate records within the company’s operating system Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors Requirements: 2+ years of experience in air and/or ocean import freight forwarding Strong knowledge of import procedures and customs documentation Familiarity with U.S. customs regulations and clearance processes Experience working with carriers and logistics systems Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Preferred Qualifications: Experience working for a freight forwarder or NVOCC Knowledge of customs entry systems or working alongside brokers Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus What’s on Offer: Salary up to $60,000 depending on experience Opportunity to join a well-established international freight forwarder Supportive team environment with progression opportunities Benefits package available (details on application) Apply: If you're an experienced import operator looking for your next step in a fast-paced logistics environment, apply today through Altius Talent. #J-18808-Ljbffr
