Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitating effective return to community activities
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education, self-study, and involvement in professional activities and organizations

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Maryland
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist (no new graduates)
• Ability to function independently as a solo-site clinician
• Proficiency in outpatient evaluation and treatment with 60-minute evaluations and 45-minute treatment sessions
• Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal documentation and compliance standards

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an outpatient orthopedic or rehabilitation setting
• Experience with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
• Demonstrated involvement in performance improvement initiatives or professional organizations
