Animal Services Officer I

Responsibilities Daily thorough cleaning of all animal areas. Feeding animals, including special diets. Doing laundry, dishes, stocking supplies, washing windows, and cleaning public areas. Assisting in vaccination, microchipping, examinations, medical treatments, and euthanasia. Providing excellent customer service while assisting with adoptions. Patrolling the county and enforcing animal‑related laws and ordinances. Responding to reports of animal bites, cruelty, abuse, distress, stray and nuisance animals, barking dogs, wild and dangerous animals, sick and injured animals, and behavior problems. Handling, lifting, and transporting animals in various situations. Receiving and responding to questions concerning pet ownership, laws, and adoption. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Valid Driver’s License required. Ability to exert moderate physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, prolonged standing, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Some tasks require perception of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues. Ability to communicate orally.
