Registered Nurse II, FT, Nights, Med Surg 3 North

Registered Nurse Position

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

• RN license for Maryland
• BSN license
• 1 year of nursing experience
• BLS

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing independent care to unit specific patient population; serving as clinical resource for others, utilizing and integrating evidence into practice, functioning effectively in roles specific to unit (such as arrest team for ICU, triage for ED, etc).
2. Serving as an effective primary coordinating nurse; collaborating with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs.
3. Serving as clinical resource for others.
4. Assisting in team development and evaluation of the Relationship-Based Care model; suggesting methods for improvement. Participating in collection of data related to Relationship-Based Care outcomes (e.g. hand offs, medication safety, etc).
5. Participating in implementation efforts addressing Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).

Work experience requirements:

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required. BSN preferred. Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
• One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
