• PRN or Relief position
• Provide basic patient care.
• Perform routine treatment procedures and assistin maintenance of a safe, clean environment.
• Ensure adherence to Hospitals anddepartmental policies and procedures.
• Patient care assignment may includeneonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

• Completion of basic nursing skills course at an accreditednursing program
• Competency checklist for each identified tasks.
• Student in good standing of a nationally accredited nursingprogram with completion of first semester of acute care clinical course.
• CPR Certification or must obtain within 30calendar days of date of position

• Perform routine treatment procedures, to include invasiveprocedures such as venipuncture for lab draws and IV initiation
• Assist nursing staff in complicated treatment procedures;perform routine treatment procedures
• Provide basic patient care; assist with ADLâ€'s to includebathing and assisting patient to the bathroom, take and record vital signs toinclude temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure andintake-output measurements
• Collect, label, and transport specimens
• Transport equipment, supplies, charts, and materials
• Make rounds, handle patient requests, report and record changesin condition or behavior of patients or unusual incidents, within scope oftraining
• Make rounds and handle basic patient requests, and perform basicpatient and family assistance tasks
• Clean patient care rooms, equipment and instruments; reportequipment problems; order and store supplies; maintain appropriate PAR levels
• Assist and accompany patients in the admission, transfer anddischarge process
• Prepare patients for meals, and also assist patients as necessary
• Deliver and pick-up meal trays, pass the beverage cart, and assistdesignated patients to chair, with ambulation, or to the bathroom
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/familiesin accordance with Hospitals standards
• Enhance professional growth and developmentthrough participation in educational programs, reading current literature,attending in-services, meetings and workshops
• Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures andprotocols
• Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety byseeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of currentpolicies and processes
• Identify and report/correct environmental conditionsand/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
• Report potential or actual patient safety concerns,medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
• Encourage patients to activelyparticipate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment orsituations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
