Position Summary and Qualifications

The selected candidate will oversee patient care activities and clinical operations within the Emergency Department. This role involves collaborating with various healthcare team members, including physicians and ancillary services, to ensure high-quality care delivery.

• Coordinate staffing on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Manage personnel scheduling within the department, ensuring schedules are finalized two weeks in advance.
• Oversee daily operations within the department.
• Ensure that adequate supplies are available for staff use.
• Account for and verify the functionality of all equipment daily.
• Actively participate in assigned committees within the Regional Advisor Council (RAC).
• Plan, develop, implement, and assess trauma quality improvement initiatives monthly in collaboration with the Trauma/Education Coordinator.
• Review departmental and trauma policies annually and develop new policies as necessary.
• Work to maintain current trauma certification in partnership with the Trauma/Education Coordinator.
• Ensure 100% compliance with Core Measures in the Emergency Department, adhering to evidence-based best practices.
• Maintain 100% compliance with Premium Credit best practices.
• Engage in four hours of clinical/bedside nursing each week.
• Accompany Level 1 Trauma patients during transport to RETGH as per physician directives.
• Attend and participate in all unit meetings.
• Share on-call responsibilities with the Emergency Department Director and Trauma/Education Coordinator.
• Serve as staff and/or charge nurse when required.

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 months of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification must be obtained within 60 months of starting employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course certification is required.
• Must possess an Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.

We provide a range of services including emergency care, cardiac care, women’s services, a Level III NICU, rehabilitation, and a Minimally Invasive Surgery Center .
