Clinical Nurse Coordinator Ortho Neuro Trauma

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator Ortho Neuro Trauma at HCA Healthcare, you will play a pivotal clinical and leadership role on a high-acuity orthopedic, neurology, and trauma unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. You will coordinate and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex orthopedic injuries, spine and neurologic conditions, and multi-system trauma, ensuring timely assessments, precise interventions, and safe transitions of care. Working closely with physicians, surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members, you will facilitate care planning, patient and family education, and discharge coordination to optimize outcomes and promote recovery.

In this role, you will function as a clinical resource and charge nurse, supporting staff nurses and assistive personnel through real-time coaching, mentoring, and problem solving on the unit. You will help manage patient flow, admissions, discharges, and transfers while monitoring staffing needs and acuity to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios. You will champion adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best-practice protocols in ortho, neuro, and trauma nursing, including pain management, fall prevention, skin integrity, infection prevention, and early mobility programs.

You will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting diagnostic results, monitoring hemodynamic and neurologic status, overseeing post-operative and post-procedural care, and escalating changes in patient condition promptly to providers. You will collaborate with case management and rehabilitation teams to develop individualized care plans and ensure patients and families are educated on surgical procedures, treatment options, medications, and home care needs.
