Warehouse Supervisor

A small-scale building products distributor in the Kansas City, MO area is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, inventory control, and local delivery routing. This role requires active daily participation in floor operations, including loading, unloading, and pulling orders. A key focus of this position will be partnering with management to implement a new, modernized inventory tracking system. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the construction materials industry and a strong background in servicing contractors. This will be a M-F 6a-2:30p shift.

• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing building products.
• Work actively on the floor alongside the team, operating forklifts and manually loading/unloading materials.
• Lead the evaluation, transition, and implementation of an upgraded inventory tracking system.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical audits, and strategic space utilization.
• Coordinate and optimize daily delivery routing for local fleet drivers.
• Provide direct, efficient customer service to contractors during material pickups.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized facility.

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Proven experience planning local delivery routes and managing logistics.
• Demonstrated track record of managing inventory data and assisting with inventory software implementations.
• Prior experience working within the building products industry or closely with construction contractors is highly preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a hands-on role, including heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs) and operating heavy machinery.
• Certified forklift operator, or the ability to obtain certification quickly.
