Family Law Attorney

Role Description The Family Law Attorney will handle a full range of family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and related legal issues, from initial consultation through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, developing case strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, and preparing for and attending hearings, trials, and mediations. The attorney will manage case files, communicate regularly with clients, negotiate settlements, and collaborate with colleagues and staff to ensure efficient, high-quality representation. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Northern Virginia, with work-from-home flexibility. DiPietro has flexibility for in-office work in Fairfax, Leesburg, Arlington, and Alexandria. Qualifications Strong foundation in lawyering and Family Law, with experience applying these disciplines to complex client matters. Ability to analyze and manage a broad range of legal issues in family law cases. Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions before family law courts. Experience conducting depositions and handling discovery in contested matters. Active license to practice law in Virginia (or eligibility for admission within a reasonable timeframe). Prior family law litigation experience in Northern Virginia Courts or surrounding jurisdictions is highly preferred. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including clear communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, using legal practice and case management technologies.
