Chief EngineerLOCATION NAME of Schahet Hotels is currently looking for a Chief Engineer to join our growing team! Our Chief Engineer will perform preventive and regular maintenance and repairs to all areas of the hotel. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized maintenance shop and for the security of hotel inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.As a leader in the hospitality industry, Schahet Hotels has built a reputation based on exceptional culture and superior service. We believe that when our team members are happy, everyone benefits!Cantio Hotel is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead all aspects of hotel maintenance, safety, and building operations. This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring the property, equipment, and systems operate efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily maintenance operations for guest rooms, public spaces, grounds, and back-of-house areas.Manage preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement projects.Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, pool, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, environmental, and local building regulations.Lead, train, schedule, and develop the maintenance team.Manage departmental budgets, inventory, vendor relationships, and contractor performance.Respond to maintenance emergencies and ensure prompt resolution of guest service issues.Support energy management and asset preservation initiatives.Qualifications3+ years of progressive maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in hospitality.Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.Hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred.EPA Refrigerant Certification, CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus.Valid driver's license required.What We're Looking ForStrong leadership and communication skills.Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.Commitment to safety, quality, and guest satisfaction.Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced hospitality environment.Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in varying conditions, and safely use maintenance tools and equipment.If you're a hands-on leader who takes pride in maintaining exceptional facilities and creating great guest experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
