Title Specialist II (Manheim)

Responsibilities Process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction. Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements. Verify acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed. Confirm accurate title VIN number, odometer reading, releases of liens, and that titles contain no alteration, etc. Determine negotiability of title document and assess for potential fraud. Report any title discrepancies. Resolve titling issues through interaction with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies. Work with manager/supervisor to negotiate price adjustment between buyer and seller for a title problem, if necessary. Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle titles and interpret titling regulations in each state for which vehicles are processed. Receive and route telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner to the appropriate personnel or department. Perform other duties such as processing sale day transactions and providing customer service. Resolve issues with customers, as they are presented either upon discovery or in response to a customer call. Work exception queues identified by the system. Resolve exceptions by completing documentation, submitting to the State, and/or working with the customers. Request Power of Attorney (POA) from customers. Request funds to pay state fees. Complete title validation. Receive POA document sent by the customer. Monitor aging of titles. Retrieve new title docs sent by state. Update & validate exception title in the system. Record costs of fixing title. Notarize documents. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience; OR 5 years' experience in a related field. Effective communication skills and a strong customer service attitude. Bending and light lifting 10 lbs. or less. Must have strong organizational skills and be very detail-oriented. Previous vehicle title experience and title handling. Ability to recognize title brands and other relevant notations related to titles is a requirement. Ability to type and use 10-key proficiently required. Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Extensive detail handwritten and computer work. Valid Notary or ability to become Notary required. Work Environment Office Setting Compensation Hourly pay rate is in the range of $21.83 - $32.79 per hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
