Manual Machinist

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Shift: 1st

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr. - $35.00/hr.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate manual machining equipment to produce precision components used in industrial applications. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work from technical drawings, and a solid understanding of machining tolerances and measurement techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Set up machines, tooling, and fixtures for machining operations.
• Machine materials including cast iron, bronze, and stainless steel.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, and finishing operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Make machining adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in proper working condition.
• Complete production documentation and follow established quality procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating manual machining equipment, including lathes and mills.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and precision measurement.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience machining cast iron, bronze, stainless steel, or similar materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Dependable work ethic and good problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in custom, job-shop, or low-volume manufacturing.
• Background in industrial components, sealing products, or similar precision-machined products.
• Experience working with close-tolerance components.
