Certified Medical Assistant

What We Offer Novant Health Waxhaw Family is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant. The CMA coordinates and assists the provider to ensure safe, quality, and cost‑effective service and care for the people within the practice population. Responsibilities The CMA will provide clinical support working behind the scenes: working in Epic inboxes, answering live clinical phone calls, prior authorizations, and filling in on the floor for PTO and call outs. What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Certification: Candidates must provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA – National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA – American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA – American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement. Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA, or CCMA; required. Current State Driver’s License (Palliative Care Only), required. Additional skills: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
