Phlebotomist - Lab - Full-Time - Days

Job Description:

1. PURPOSE OF JOB:

To collect, accession and process specimens according to policy, under the direction and supervision of the Laboratory.

1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

40% 1. Collects appropriate blood specimens according to Specimen Collection Manual and Reference


Laboratory Manuals.


40% 2. Accessions all specimens and resolves problems connected with test orders.

10% 3. Provides quality customer service.


5% 4. Cross trains in other non-phlebotomy skills to help out in the Laboratory. Goes to Outreach


Facilities to collect or pick up Laboratory specimens

5% 5. Promotes patient safety by compliance with Organizational/Departmental policies and procedures as well as all regulatory agencies.



Job Qualifications:


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

B. Experience: Phlebotomy experience preferred


C. Other Skills: Must have driver's license, vehicle in good operating condition and proof of adequate automobile insurance, BLS Certification required, excellent interpersonal and team building skills
