Traffic EIT/Designer

HDR is looking for a Traffic EIT/Designer to join our North Carolina Transportation Business Group. This role will be based out of one of the following offices: Raleigh, Charlotte, Wilmington, Winston-Salem, or Asheville, NC. As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will support economic vitality, public safety, sustainability, and quality of life across diverse projects and teams focused on mobility challenges with innovation and technical excellence. Responsibilities Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis, engineering, and design needs for transportation projects. Conduct operational traffic analysis using modeling tools, from highway capacity software to micro-simulation models; analyze isolated intersections, roundabouts, urban arterials, and freeway segments. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications MS in Engineering or related field. EIT or ability to obtain within 12 months. If hired without EIT, the title will be "Traffic Designer" and EIT must be obtained for career progression. Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, AutoCAD and MicroStation. Local candidates are preferred. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Strong verbal and written skills. Ability to multitask across multiple projects.
