Transmission Line Project Manager

Role Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transmission Line Project Manager- Remote in our Power & Energy team in Columbus, NE. This is also a remote position with the ability to work from a mutually acceptable location in the Central Time Zone. This Opportunity provides technical project supervision and guidance with managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned Transmission project(s) in accordance with WSP’s core values. Tasks include:

• Responsibility for the overall performance of the assigned project(s) that are of moderate size/complexity and/or local/regional in scope.
• Oversight for financial, technical, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Ensuring that responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle are adhered to, delivered, and audited with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable corporate standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
• 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role leading engineering and construction teams on medium to large scale Transmission projects within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
• Sound understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry and well-defined background and experience in project management.
• Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required, including:
  • Contract Management
  • External and Internal Team Meeting Management
  • Earned Value Management
  • Change Management
  • Risk Management
  • Schedule Management (including experience with CPM project schedules such as Primavera P6 or equivalent)
  • Financial Management
• Well-developed analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management.
• Competent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail.
• Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members.
• Competent with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, and MS Office suite products.
• Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources and assertively directing consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements.
• Occasional travel (up to 25%) will be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Engineering (preferred).
• Essential project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP-M) (preferred).

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $102,200 - $182,200. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation.
