Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables (Miami) and Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Charlotte and Raleigh, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; and Toronto. BR+A provides state‑of‑the‑art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services. BR+A is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for our Boston office and is open to considering candidates for a temporary‑to‑permanent arrangement. Job Summary The Human Resource Generalist will assist with handling the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, maintaining immigration records, ensuring project badge compliance, and enforcing company policies and practices. Duties/Responsibilities Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non‑mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti‑harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to, talent management; Immigration, and project badge compliance. Handles employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Maintains tracking of all immigration cases. Works with the HR Director, Principals, employees, and attorneys to ensure all cases are setup and tracked accordingly for U.S. Foreign national employees. Works with the HR Director on cases that are not in compliance, notifying the employee and manager with steps to recertify compliance. Maintains proper badging credentials for employees traveling onsite to client projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills, Experience, And Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration 8 - 12 years of related experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ADP Workforce Now, and talent management systems. SHRM‑CP designation preferred.
