Job Title: Welder Job Description

This role focuses on performing basic MIG welds and fabrication work in a metal construction environment. You will read and follow blueprints to meet customer specifications, collaborate with production supervisors to achieve daily and weekly goals, and handle materials and components throughout the day. Typical work involves laying beads on steel and metal, commonly around 3/8 inch thickness, within a dynamic construction fabrication setting where each day brings new tasks and projects.

• Perform basic MIG welding on steel and metal components, with 3/8 inch material being most common.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Lay consistent and structurally sound weld beads according to project requirements.
• Work closely with production supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Carry and lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as brake presses and related tools as required.
• Use measurement tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and ensure proper fit and finish.
• Follow written and verbal instructions carefully and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Contribute to a variety of construction fabrication projects, adapting to new tasks and priorities as needed.

• At least one year of welding experience or a recent welding certification.
• Minimum of one year of fabrication experience using welding and fabrication equipment, including brake presses.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and metal components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Ability to use calipers and other measurement tools to check dimensions.
• Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction from supervisors.
• Strong safety orientation and commitment to following safety protocols in a fabrication environment.

• Experience working in a metal fabrication or factory environment.
• Familiarity with construction-related fabrication projects.
• Comfort working with a variety of fabrication tools and equipment.
• Reliability in maintaining a full-time schedule and meeting weekly hour requirements.

The role is based in an open metal fabrication facility with a factory-style environment. The workspace is non-climate controlled, generally decently warm in winter but can be cooler when shipping doors are open, and warmer in the summer with plenty of airflow. Eye and hearing protection are provided, and steel-toed boots are required as part of the dress code. The position operates on first shift, with core hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You must work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the option to work additional hours and overtime as desired.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Mankato,MN.
