Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – PACU Registered Nurse – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 1-2 weekends per 4-week schedule, includes weekend and holiday coverage Highlights: 20-bed Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase I PACU) with a 2:1 patient ratio Diverse case mix including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, bariatric, ENT, vascular, and general surgical patients Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams First-time travelers welcome; 36-hour orientation provided No on-call requirements at this time Preferred Trauma Level I experience with exposure to complex post-operative care Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of PACU or critical care nursing experience Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Charting system experience required Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Proficiency in blood product administration, central line management, dysrhythmia recognition, conscious sedation, care of ventilated patients, PCA pump management, and IV vasopressor administration Experience with post-epidural management, nerve blocks, malignant hyperthermia protocol, and reversal agents preferred Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or director) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This PACU position offers registered nurses the opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from a wide variety of surgical procedures.
