Float required within the facility system as needed. Highlights: Progressive Care Unit specializing in surgical step-down and general medicine patients Nurse-to-patient ratios maintained at 3-4:1 with all attempts to keep at 3:1 Epic electronic medical record system 24 hours of orientation provided First-time travelers welcome with manager approval (candidates with only 1 year of experience subject to profile review) Patient population includes bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, post-surgical overflow, and general medicine Requirements: Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care, Step-Down, or Telemetry nursing experience Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Current BLS and ACLS certifications Epic EMR experience required Must pass Telemetry competency test Experience monitoring telemetry patients required Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program 2 professional references required: at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference Essential Skills: Telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Central line and PICC line care/management IV insulin and Heparin protocol management, titration of insulin drips Blood product administration and PCA pump management Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration Wound care/wound vac, surgical drain management Starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, phlebotomy Isolation precautions/PPE and use of Rapid Response/Code teams Why It's a Great Opportunity: Join a progressive care team dedicated to providing exceptional post-surgical and medical care to adult and geriatric patients.
