Schedule: Onsite with limited WFH flexibility

Pay: $50–$60/hour ($104k - $125k)

Contract: 6+ months with potential temp-to-permanent opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interim Tax Specialist to support a growing, multi-state organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on, self-motivated professional who can work independently, research tax issues, and help build efficient processes. If you have a strong knowledge and background in Sales & Use Tax, including multi-state experience, with additional experience in Real Estate Tax and/or Excise Tax lets connect!

Key Responsibilities

• Support multi-state sales and use tax compliance.
• Research and resolve tax notices, questions, and compliance issues.
• Track tax filings, payments, deadlines, and related documentation.
• Create and maintain tax calendars, procedures, and SOPs.
• Investigate potential tax risks and determine appropriate next steps.
• Assist with tax-related projects, process improvements, and software initiatives.
• Help organize and standardize tax processes across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in tax, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong multi-state sales and use tax experience.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
