Director of Obstetrics (RN)

A healthcare facilityl in Hancock, MI is seeking an experienced  OB Director (RN) to provide clinical and operational leadership for its obstetrics department. This position offers an opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse leader to oversee daily operations while supporting high-quality, safe patient care.

Position Overview

The OB Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the obstetrics department, including Labor and Delivery services. This role provides nursing leadership, supports clinical standards, coordinates department operations, and works closely with staff and hospital leadership to maintain an effective and patient-focused care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery departments.
• Oversee daily department operations, staffing, and nursing practice.
• Promote consistent, high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards.
• Support staff development, performance, and professional growth.
• Monitor departmental processes and identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership on patient-care and operational initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent approved nursing education.
• Current, active Michigan RN license .
• Professional experience in Labor and Delivery .
• Ability to work on-site in Hancock, Michigan.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Approximately 4 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Approximately 2 years of healthcare leadership experience.
• Current NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, and STABLE certifications.
