Public Relations & Communications Intern Overview FashionBar is seeking analytical, creative, and driven interns to join our Chicago-based Fashion Strategy and Consulting team. This role supports daily communications efforts and ongoing public relations initiatives within a fast-paced, goal-oriented fashion environment. Interns will work closely with FashionBar’s internal teams to help execute brand messaging, media outreach, and public-facing communications aligned with FashionBar’s identity and client initiatives. This is an accredited internship offering hands-on experience in public relations, communications, and media relations within the fashion industry. Responsibilities Monitoring print, digital, and social media coverage Scheduling and coordinating media engagements, appearances, photoshoots, and special events Writing press releases, media materials, and internal communications Assisting with interview preparation materials and media briefs Compiling and maintaining media and contact lists Researching and collecting press clippings and coverage Managing and updating communications databases Supporting mailings, print production, and media outreach Greeting guests, clients, and media partners as needed Assisting with general administrative and communications support Qualifications Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field Solid understanding of social media platforms and digital communication Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks Professional demeanor and ability to represent the brand externally Preferred Majors Public Relations Marketing Communications Journalism Duration & Schedule Duration: One semester or academic quarter Approximately 20 hours per week Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic and work commitments What We Offer This is an unpaid internship , but the experience provides significant professional value.
