Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAD Drafter specializing in Electrical systems to join our Electrical Engineering firm. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting of engineering redlines for system floor plans (lighting, power, communications, etc.) and setup of electrical drawings for project development. Your expertise will ensure that electrical designs adhere to company standards and project specifications, contributing to the successful execution of complex electrical projects across various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical floor plans, site plans and details using AutoDesk software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and system designers to translate relines and conceptual designs into technical construction ready drawings.
- Prepare construction documents and system design layouts that meet NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and project requirements.
- Utilize Bluebeam, NavisWorks, and PDF tools to review, annotate, and manage drawing sets efficiently.
- Ensure all drawings are compliant with company/ industry standards for electrical engineering and construction practices.
- Support the review of design modifications and update CAD files accordingly to reflect changes or improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical drafting with strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. Minimum 2 years of working with AutoCAD and Revit software related to electrical design.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering design including floor plan layouts and system components.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Experience working on construction projects involving electrical systems and layout design.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with effective communication skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary design teams.
