Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends to support work-life balance PTO begins accruing on day one Paid company holidays Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) benefits Supportive outpatient clinic environment Opportunity for career growth and development Mission-driven organization serving rural communitiesPosition SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works collaboratively with providers and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care and support daily clinic operations within an outpatient medical setting.What You Will DoPatient Care & Clinical SupportPrepare patients for examinations by collecting vital signs, medical histories, current concerns, blood pressure, weight, and updating problem listsPrepare patients for provider visits and assist during examinations and proceduresAdminister medications, injections, and treatments in accordance with nursing standardsDraw laboratory specimens and prepare specimens for shipment including cultures, biopsies, and Pap smearsAssist patients with ambulation, wheelchair transfers, and movement to and from examination tablesAssist providers with procedures and ensure equipment is maintained before and after proceduresSupport patient education efforts and communicate information professionally and compassionatelyPatient Coordination & CommunicationTriage patient phone calls and walk-in concerns in a timely and professional mannerComplete follow-up calls as directed by provider staffAnswer and assess patient and hospital calls as appropriatePrepare referral documentation and communicate relevant information to healthcare providers and outside entitiesMaintain tracking logs for laboratory testing, referrals, and diagnostic servicesClinic Operations & DocumentationPrepare, stock, and maintain examination rooms and required instruments/equipmentEnsure instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized according to policyReview patient charts for appointment readiness and completenessDocument treatments, procedures, medications, refills, assessments, telephone encounters, and office visits in the electronic medical recordMaintain documentation during downtime procedures as requiredMonitor supply needs and communicate ordering requirements according to NHS policyTeam & Compliance ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with providers, supervisors, and staff to support organizational goals and objectivesAttend and actively participate in staff meetings, in-services, and educational opportunitiesMaintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirementsAdhere to all regulatory standards, organizational policies, and healthcare requirementsTreat patients, coworkers, visitors, vendors, and partners respectfully and professionally at all timesPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsCurrent LPN licensure in the State of MissouriCurrent BLS certificationValid driver’s license and proof of insurance if vehicle is used for business purposesPreferred QualificationsTwo (2) years of clinic, office nursing, ambulatory care, or acute care experience preferredExperienced and new graduate LPN candidates are welcome to apply.Essential Functions & Physical RequirementsAbility to read, interpret, and apply medical terminology, instructions, and patient recordsAbility to communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, providers, and the publicAbility to work effectively in fast-paced clinical environments and high-demand situationsMaintain confidentiality and professional demeanor at all timesAbility to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach throughout the workdayAbility to assist patients with mobility and transfersAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds safelyEqual Employment OpportunityNorthwest Health Services is an equal opportunity employer.
