Job Title: Perioperative Circulator

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute operating room environment.
License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.


Must-Have:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Excellent understanding of AORN Standards.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized care.
- Some computer skills.


Description:
The Perioperative Circulator is a Registered Nurse who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures.
Using clinical knowledge, judgment, and clinical-reasoning skills based on scientific principles, the perioperative nurse implements nursing care to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient.
The Perioperative Circulator is responsible for the direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care to patients in the operating room.
The nurse is accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative environment.
The Perioperative Circulator individualizes patient care according to the patient's health status, age level, and the surgery or procedure being performed.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
