Job Description Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions. Assemble sections of machines to customer specifications; attach units to assembly, subassembly, or frame using hand and power tools. Perform mechanical assembly operations to exact tolerances, using fixtures, jigs, and templates; work with rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and sprockets. Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spotface bolt holes; file, lap, buff parts; clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies. Use measuring instruments to level and align work, detect and eliminate run‑out, and work to close tolerances requiring square, concentricity, and parallelism. Assemble electrical or electronic systems; install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment. Label, wire, and connect switch boxes and control panel terminal boards from basic wiring diagrams. Verify wiring integrity, checking coding, termination, shorts, grounds, and continuity. Detect defective material, unusual conditions, or operating difficulties and report to supervisor with details for corrective actions. Complete documentation to meet quality and production requirements. Participate in team meetings and communicate to help resolve cost, quality, or production issues. Maintain orderly, clean work area and equipment; perform all work in accordance with safety procedures. Attend worksite regularly and be available for frequent overtime; remote work is not available.
