About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in step-down care License: Pending License accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with pre and post-operative vascular surgical services, including abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomies, stents, and peripheral vascular interventions. - Ability to manage hemodialysis AV fistulas and grafts, thoracic outlet decompression, and lower extremity amputations. - Strong skills in telemetry and cardiac monitoring. Description: Provide nursing care in a step-down unit. Perform continuous monitoring of patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. Administer medications and manage IV therapy. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care. Manage and interpret cardiac telemetry, including dysrhythmias. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Coordinate care with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Facilitate a therapeutic environment for patients. Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic health record. Adhere to hospital protocols and procedures for patient management. Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in care decisions. Participate in ongoing education and training as required.
