Position Overview: As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level WordPress websites and applications. You will collaborate closely with our cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and clients, to deliver exceptional digital experiences for our clients. Your deep expertise in WordPress development, coupled with your problem-solving skills and attention to detail, will be critical in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. This role involves direct interaction with clients throughout the project lifecycle. Strong client- facing skills, including effective communication, active listening, and the ability to understand and translate client requirements into technical solutions, are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain enterprise-level WordPress websites and applications, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with designers and strategists to translate visual designs into functional and responsive WordPress themes.
• Customize and extend WordPress functionalities using custom themes, plugins, and APIs.
• Optimize website performance and implement caching strategies to ensure optimal speed and scalability.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring high quality code and adherence to project requirements.
• Collaborate with the project management team to estimate project timelines, identify potential risks, and propose effective technical solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in WordPress development and implement best practices to continuously enhance our development processes.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, fostering their professional growth and maintaining a collaborative team environment.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools, frameworks, and standards to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, manage client expectations, and build strong relationships with clients based on trust and professionalism.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a WordPress developer, specificallyworking on enterprise-level projects.
• Extensive knowledge of WordPress core, themes, and plugins, including custom post types, taxonomies, and the WordPress REST API.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React.js.
• Strong understanding of PHP and MySQL, with experience in writing optimized and efficient database queries.
• Solid experience in responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with enterprise-level WordPress frameworks, such as Genesis or Divi.

• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, caching mechanisms, and content delivery networks (CDNs).

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries, such as React or Vue.js.

• Experience with WordPress multisite and multilingual setups.

• Contributions to the WordPress community, such as plugins, themes, or core contributions.

• Understanding of SEO principles and best practices in WordPress development.

Nice to Haves:

• Candidate is familiar with decoupled or headless Wordpress architecture with a focus on Next.js
• Candidate has worked with PaaS based systems such as Pantheon or WP Engine to deploy enterprise level Wordpress projects.
