Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care within a cardiac stepdown unit, focusing on monitoring and managing patients with cardiac conditions. Ensure high-quality patient care while adhering to clinical protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients, including telemetry readings and hemodynamic stability.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
• Manage arterial and venous access sites, ensuring proper hemostasis and infection control.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies and stabilize patients as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in telemetry and cardiac care.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Prior charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass a compliance EKG exam within two attempts.
