Job Description Join Our Food & Nutrition Services Team At Herrin Hospital, our Food Service team plays an important role in creating a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff every day. We are currently hiring dependable and customer-focused individuals for Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem Food Service positions across a variety of shifts. Available Shift Options We are hiring for multiple schedules, including:

- Weekend Shift Opportunities
- Responsible for preparing meals to order, catering and batch cooking for patients, visitors and staff.
- Standards of Performance: Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Within 30 days of hire:
- Food Service Managers Certification (SJMH only)
- Food Service Handlers Certification (MHC, HH, HMC, Cancer Institute)
- Food Allergens Certification
- Technical Experience: 6 months, preferred
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds
- Required to stand for periods of up to 4 hours
- Maintains clean work area following all safety and sanitation guidelines
- Enters and reports cash transactions.
- Adjusts meals to meet the needs of the patient while following doctor's orders
- Keeps all work areas adequately stocked with food, condiments, beverages and service ware.
- Washes dishes and utensils following Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines in all actions.
- Delivers and retrieves trays using required patient identifiers in all interactions.
- Attractively and accurately assembles patient trays.
- Follows established portion control guidelines when serving food and beverages
- Responsible for service to retail operations.
- Prepares meals using approved food sanitation practices
- Sweeps and mops floors using approved methods.
