Job Title: RN Ortho Profession: RN Specialty: Ortho Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Capable of working in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This department serves the general ortho surgical adult population and has telemetry capability. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. Support is provided by Nursing Assistants and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitoring technicians is available for patients on telemetry. Follows Standard Precautions utilizing personal protective equipment as required.
