About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its nationally recognized nonprofit literary arts organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the organization's mission, values, and strategic priorities in partnership with the Board of Directors. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong operational background, capable of translating strategic goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the organization, including fundraising, financial management, program development, and staff leadership. They must be adept at building and maintaining relationships, both within the organization and with external stakeholders, and be committed to the values of inclusivity, community impact, and artistic integrity. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include leading all fundraising activities, ensuring financial sustainability, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nonprofit management, arts administration, and fundraising, with the ability to manage a small team and work closely with the Board of Directors. They should be a strong communicator, both in representing the organization to diverse audiences and in maintaining effective communication between staff and Board leadership. A passion for storytelling, creativity, and a deep commitment to the mission of the organization are essential. The role demands a leader with entrepreneurial energy, who is a self-starter, and can energize others while maintaining a focus on the organization's priorities.
