Job Title Adjunct Physics Instructor Location Yuba Community College District Job Description BASIC FUNCTION : Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Physics courses up to 10 hours/week Organize and teach all levels of Physics classes Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning; Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses; Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester; Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired REQUIRED DUTIES : Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications Master’s in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics OR Bachelor’s in physics or astronomy AND Master’s in engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics OR the equivalent. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Physics to community college students.
