All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, as well as adhere to company and client worksite safety policies and proceduresPromote company core values to foster and safeguard family-centric cultureCollaborate with department heads to assess near- and long-term network capacity needsPlan, design, and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including firewalls, routers, hubs, switches, servers, and other hardware as needed, travel may be requiredDevelop and maintain documentation related to the network, including maintenance and service recordsDevelop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated documentation for network administration, usage, configuration, and disaster recoveryDevelop, implement and maintain network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware in conjunction with existing security servicesAssess, plan, and communicate the impact of system changes on users, systems, and clients or stakeholdersInteract and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, consultants and contractors to acquire and secure network products and servicesConduct research on new and existing products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in network and security best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems and usersOversee new and existing hardware, and software installs and upgrades, pertaining to the network and securityConfigure and monitor networks to ensure reliable connectivity for all systems and processes including servers, workstations, telephony, CCTV, access control, and audio/video systemsMonitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reportsMonitor networks and computer systems to improve network performance for all systemsPerform network asset management, including network component inventory, maintenance and updates to related documentation and technical specification informationProactively identify opportunities to implement performance and process improvements that support results in alignment with E2 Optics' business requirementsProvide after-hours support for all network infrastructure hardware and systemsParticipate in managing all network security solutionsPerform network and security audits of all company systemsProvide expertise, and guidance, to helpdesk team, and assist as neededOther duties as assignedThis position is generally expected not to require travel, however, the individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 OpticsWhat We Are Looking ForHigh school diploma requiredBachelors degree and 2 years related experience, an associates degree with 4 years of related experience, or 6 years related experienceProven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementationProven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practicesProven experience with VOIP phone systemsExcellent hardware troubleshooting experienceCompetence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuitsGood understanding of the organizations goals and objectivesKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and lawsStrong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsAble to conduct research into networking issues and products as requiredAbility to present ideas in user-friendly languageHighly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detailProven analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAble to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environmentStrong customer service orientationExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive payOpportunities for professional development and career growthBICSI training facilitiesA supportive and inclusive work environmentHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysWork Environment and Physical DemandsThe standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces.
