Description of Work

Our fiscal staff are responsible for performing a variety of tasks with the day-to-day operations of Fayette County Children and Youth. This position requires strong skills in the areas of writing, negotiation, organization, data management, advocacy, and human relations. You will have the opportunity to attend trainings and work groups to become proficient in CAPS, as the agency moves forward to implement the fiscal components of the system. You will be collaborating with the fiscal department as well as program staff to facilitate a smooth transition. Responsibilities include:

• Policy Knowledge: Develop understanding of agency functions, regulations, and procedures for Children and Youth Services and Juvenile Probation
• Collaboration Support: Build relationships with caseworkers, supervisors, providers, and partner agencies to exchange needed information
• Eligibility Review: Gather and check documentation to determine eligibility for TANF and IV-E programs
• Record Maintenance: Track changes in household circumstances and maintain required forms and fiscal documentation
• Data Management: Enter information in CAPS, PEAPS, and other systems while ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Invoice Assistance: Help process invoices, purchase orders, adoption and foster data, and payroll tasks as required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, one scheduled day per week after approval of supervisor and must hold regular status as Fiscal Technician. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,235.00 (before taxes).

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
• Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
• One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
