About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Early recognition of changes in patient condition. Clear communication and escalation with providers. Critical thinking skills. Experience with CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and chest tubes. Experience with ventilators and various drains/surgical sites. Ability to titrate drips including vasopressin, epinephrine, levophed, and heparin. Description: This position involves working in a busy Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The nurse-patient ratio varies from 1:2 to 1:3, depending on the acuity of patients. Floating to other ICUs in the facility may be required, and skill sets will be considered for assignments. Patient care techs may be present intermittently based on census. The nurse will need to read telemetry strips and utilize Phillips monitors. Holiday and weekend requirements will be dependent on unit coverage needs. The dress code includes teal bottoms and coordinating scrub tops with restrictions on nails and fleece jackets. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
