Research Coordinator Rehab Medicine

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing basic to moderate range of coordination for research studies conducted at the Medical Center. The Coordinator will assist with recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, research data collection, study coordination, intra‑operative monitoring and serve as liaison with the IRB and funding agencies. The Coordinator ensures accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA, and obligations to patients, investigators, research team and sponsors. Interfaces directly with patients and investigators in support of clinical trials if applicable. Works under general supervision. Job Responsibilities Study Regulations – aware of study regulatory status, keeping up to date copies of regulatory documents, assisting with informed consent. Clinical Competency – perform EKG, phlebotomy, centrifuge, specimen handling, storage and shipping; attend training and certification. Continuous Learning – participate in ongoing research education training annually. Reporting and Analysis – gather, compile, analyze data and produce reports for investigators and sponsors. Grants – assist in grant application preparation and related activities. Budgets – help develop draft budgets and prepare funding reports. Special Projects – conduct other duties as required. Human Subjects Research – submit required documents to IRB, Office of Clinical Trials, and other parties; maintain signatures and enrollment statistics. Research Activities – collect patient information, abstract data, conduct study visits, document results, audit database. Recruitment – screen potential patients for eligibility, schedule initial visits, review inclusion/exclusion criteria, and manage informed consent process. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, allied health or related discipline. 0-1 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work under direction of supervision and operate research‑related equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications. Problem‑solving, time‑management, and ability to work well under pressure. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Prior experience with research protocols. Experience working in an academic medical center environment.
