Regional Sales Manager, Lab Equipment SP Industries Inc., an ATS company, is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and demand for scientific laboratory equipment solutions in the Western U.S. region. Primary focus on Southern California and Colorado markets; the ideal candidate should be located in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, with consideration for Denver, CO. Location Los Angeles, CA; Irvine, CA; Denver, CO (considered) Responsibilities Meet/exceed sales plans and targets; prospect new customers and develop the installed base for new/replacement/expansion opportunities. Translate customer needs into project proposals and quotes; ensure proposals meet user requirements and add value to the customer experience. Serve as the primary field commercial resource for the evaporator portfolio; maintain proficiency in the SP chemistry lab equipment portfolio, applications, and workflows; stay current on customer, market, and competitive trends. Manage pricing to capture customer value delivered and maximize margins; understand regional and portfolio market prices. Develop territorial forecasts and plans; maintain the pipeline in CRM. Maintain a territory coverage plan to service key accounts; call and visit customers regularly, documenting interactions in CRM; identify multiple influencers in the selling process. Follow up on all leads promptly; document in CRM with details of contacts, interests, projects, and equipment. Share customer, market, and competitive insights with the business; provide reporting and recommendations as required. Attend and contribute to industrial shows, exhibitions, and conferences as required. Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in life/physical sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics) or Business. 3–5+ years of experience selling equipment to pharmaceutical, biotech, environmental, and/or research chemistry laboratories directly and/or through channel partners. Demonstrated ability to drive sales to achieve territory revenue targets; a consistent track record of sales performance. Willingness to travel >50%; frequent overnight travel to customer sites and SP manufacturing facilities, primarily within Northern California, Colorado, Washington. Proven ability to build rapport and relationships with multiple influencers within an account. High confidence and comfort in representing complex technical solutions. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and networking skills. Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and drive results. Highly motivated, self‑directed, and able to work independently. Strong problem‑solving skills; ability to overcome obstacles. Ensures technical materials reflect the quality expected by SP and its customers. Records execution in the Customer Record Management tool accurately. Motivates & Communicates Maintains good working relationships with company members, channel partners, and customers. Develops a superior quality image and communicates this to partners and customers. Communicates improvements, opportunities, new product ideas, competitive activities, and obstacles as needed. Professionalism & Integrity Enhances a professional and dignified image in all contacts and communications. Maintains professional integrity in all work‑related situations. Continually develops and improves personal skills and knowledge beyond requirements. Hold team members accountable for HSE compliance as part of performance reviews. Ensure implementation and maintenance of the HSE management system. Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required. Ensure training is provided to all departmental employees per established matrix. Implement corrective measures for unsafe conditions and acts. Ensure equipment, materials, and protective devices are safe and maintained. Provide instruction and supervision to employees. Take reasonable precautions to protect employees. Compensation Base salary: $100,000‑$120,000. OTE: $170,000‑$185,000, inclusive of base salary and variable commission.
