We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Import Logistics Coordinator to support import compliance and international logistics operations. This position will be responsible for receiving and organizing shipment documentation, maintaining accurate records of incoming shipments, coordinating with suppliers and freight forwarders, and ensuring import documentation is complete and accurate.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills who can manage multiple details while meeting deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment bookings with suppliers and freight forwarders to reserve space on aircraft and vessels.
• Receive import documentation from overseas suppliers, review shipment details, and maintain accurate shipment logs.
• Print, organize, and maintain import documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
• Review shipment information for accuracy and provide documentation to the appropriate compliance team.
• Verify commercial invoice pricing against purchase orders.
• Research and confirm Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications using the HTS database.
• Identify discrepancies in pricing, shipment information, and other import documentation.
• Communicate documentation discrepancies clearly and promptly with vendors and internal departments, including Receiving, Purchasing, Accounting, and Compliance.
• Maintain and update the Import Transit Log with accurate shipment information and expected delivery dates.
• Provide the Receiving Department with current information regarding incoming import shipments.
• Assist with organizing import entries, copying documents, maintaining files, and other administrative tasks supporting the Trade Compliance team.
• Perform additional import and logistics-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred.

Experience:

• Previous experience with importing goods and international logistics preferred.
• Experience working with shipping or import documentation is a plus.

Work Environment

• Office environment.
• Position requires sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
• Regular use of Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
