VP Sales - Pet Food (New York)

VP of Sales - Pet Food - Retail, Mass & Club We're partnering with a fast-growing pet food manufacturer to appoint a Vice President of Sales to lead the next phase of commercial growth across speciality pet, mass retail, grocery and club channels. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a proven sales executive with experience growing dry and wet dog food, dry and wet cat food, treats and pet nutrition products through national retail customers and distributor networks. Experience across multiple pet food formats is highly valued, as these remain the core segments of the category.

The Opportunity Reporting to the executive leadership team, you'll own the commercial strategy for expanding distribution, accelerating revenue growth and strengthening customer partnerships across key retail channels. You'll play a pivotal role in increasing market share while leading the sales organisation through its next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national sales strategy across speciality pet, mass retail, grocery, e-commerce and club
• Drive growth across dry dog food, wet dog food, dry cat food, wet cat food and treats
• Expand distribution with existing retail partners while securing new national accounts
• Build executive relationships with key retailers, distributors and broker partners
• Lead annual business planning, joint business plans, promotional strategy and trade investment
• Deliver successful new product launches and maximise distribution opportunities
• Analyse category, consumer and retailer trends to identify new avenues for growth
• Partner closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Product Development to deliver commercial objectives
• Recruit, develop and mentor a high-performing sales team

Ideal Background

• 10+ years of progressive sales leadership within pet food, pet nutrition or closely related CPG categories
• Demonstrated success growing sales across dry and wet dog food, dry and wet cat food, treats or premium pet nutrition
• Strong experience selling into PetSmart, Petco, Chewy, Walmart, Target, Costco, Sam's Club, Tractor Supply, regional grocery and independent pet retailers
• Proven ability to grow both established and emerging brands
• Strong commercial, negotiation and strategic planning skills
• Experience managing brokers, distributors and national retail customers
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution
