Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked law firm seeking a Judicial Clerk Supreme Court and Appellate Associate to join its San Francisco, CA office. This is an appellate focused associate opportunity for candidates coming out of a judicial clerkship who want to build a practice centered on sophisticated briefing, high stakes motion work, and appellate strategy in complex disputes. The Opportunity You will support and help lead briefing and strategy on major appeals, including matters before state and federal appellate courts and the Supreme Court. The role also includes an appellate focused approach at the trial level, including key motions, issue preservation, and advising trial teams on appeal ready records. Ideal Candidate Profile The firm is seeking a Judicial Clerk Supreme Court and Appellate Associate with: At least one year of judicial clerkship experience, ideally in a federal or state appellate court Excellent legal research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to manage complex records and tight deadlines Admission to the California Bar in good standing, or eligibility to practice in California A JD from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials Comfort working in an in office environment five days per week in San Francisco Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role is well suited to clerks who want daily exposure to sophisticated appellate advocacy, significant writing responsibility, and direct collaboration with senior litigators.
