Description

Overall Expectation:


Provide hands-on manufacturing quality support with an emphasis on continuous improvement, customer problem solving (8D), and supplier corrective actions. This role requires an experienced, energetic problem solver who can apply a diverse range of tools and lead cross-functional teams to deliver sustained quality results in a production environment.


Highlighted Expectations:

• Drive continuous improvement using a "Trend, Pareto, Attack" approach: analyze quality data, identify the biggest opportunities, and lead collaborative actions that measurably improve key metrics (scrap, PPM, customer incidents).
• Lead internal and external 8D problem solving for customer concerns, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
• Partner daily with production teams to resolve quality issues quickly, strengthen processes, and prevent recurrence through robust corrective actions.
• Support supplier corrective actions in collaboration with the Supplier Sourcing & Development team to improve incoming quality and reduce supplier-related disruptions.
• Maintain and improve quality systems by participating in internal audits and supporting IATF audits and system maintenance.
• Maintain and update APQP-related living documents (Control Plans, PFMEAs, etc.) as products and processes change.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T: able to read prints, understand callouts, and compare requirements to physical parts.
• Understanding of IATF 16949 or equivalent Quality Management System experience.
• Working knowledge of APQP documentation and how to maintain living documents.
• Demonstrated ability to lead effective cross-functional problem solving (8D required; experience with tools such as 5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone, A3, etc. is a plus).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to energize a team and drive improvements together.
• Ability to work primarily on 1st shift with occasional off-shift support for quality emergencies.
• Rare travel to suppliers or customers as needed.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

• Industry experience in automotive, electronics, and/or appliance manufacturing.
• Launch quality / new product launch experience.
• ASQ certification (e.g., CQE) or related quality training/certifications.
