Job Summary

As a Financial Aid Advisor, your main goal is to help students figure out how to pay for school. You will be their personal guide through the funding process, making sure they get the financial support they need while keeping all their paperwork organized and up to standard.

What You Will Do

Guide Students: Help both new and current students understand their options for paying for school, such as grants, loans, and payment plans.

Application Help: Walk students through their financial aid forms (like the FAFSA) and help them gather the right paperwork.

Explain the Fine Print: Break down the student loan process so students understand exactly what they are agreeing to before they sign anything.

Provide Estimates: Give students a clear, easy-to-understand estimate of their financial aid and their out-of-pocket costs.

Check for Accuracy: Double-check all applications and files to make sure nothing is missing or incorrect.

Keep Great Records: Maintain organized, private files so the school stays compliant with government rules and is always ready for audits.

Financial Coaching: Talk with students about their financial commitments and what they need to do to stay on track for graduation.

Team Up: Work closely with the admissions and administrative teams to make the student's enrollment process as smooth as possible.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: 1 to 2 years working in higher education or financial aid is a plus, but not strictly required.

People Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Trustworthy: Can be completely trusted to protect sensitive, private financial information.

Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for detail and strong record-keeping habits.

Adaptable: A natural problem-solver who can easily juggle multiple tasks at once.
