This position will help students learn subject matters and skills that will facilitate maximum learning experiences and contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible adults; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students; guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals. Employment status: Certified, full-time, 185‑day employment contract. Qualifications Valid and appropriate Ohio teaching certificate/license. Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university. Alternative qualifications acceptable to the Superintendent and/or Board of Education. Essential Functions Ensure the safety of students. Prepare clear and timely lesson plans. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of the learners. Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the board‑approved maps. Observe ethics of the teaching profession. Internal candidates (currently employed by Olentangy Schools) must submit an internal online application in Applicant Tracking (SchoolSpring). Note: ESC employees, interns, off‑staff advisors/coaches, short‑ or long‑term substitutes, or student teachers must apply as an external candidate. External candidates must submit an external online application in Applicant Tracking (SchoolSpring) and complete an online Teacher Candidate Assessment. In addition, a letter of interest and current resume must be uploaded within the Attachments section of the application. The Teacher Candidate Assessment is sent via a separate email; if it lands in junk or spam, the subject will be “Regarding your Olentangy Local Schools application.” Keep in mind that the assessment is timed—allow approximately 45 minutes of uninterrupted time and multiple attempts are not permitted.
