Overview In this vital role you will be the primary customer contact and provide clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products to medical professionals, helping them navigate the complex payer environment. You will implement marketing strategy, promote Amgen products, and be responsible for achieving territory sales goals. Territory • Petersburg, Midlothian, Chester, Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell, Chesterfield, Richmond, Prince George, Sutherland, Franklin. • Relocation is not offered for this role. Responsibilities Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization. Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through in‑person and virtual engagement. Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customize discussions based on customer needs, ensure product access, resolve reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts. Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager. Partner with other colleagues to share best practices, continuously learn, and grow. Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle and build the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront. Basic Qualifications Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience, or high‑school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience. Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience, or Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience, or high‑school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry. Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases. Knowledge of local market and established relationships in the territory. Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration. Adaptability with core competencies: planning & organizing; leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge; communicating with impact; driving for results; cultivating internal & external relationships. What to Expect The expected annual salary range for a Specialty Representative in the U.S. is $89,880–$121,602; for a Senior Specialty Representative it is $115,036–$155,638. Actual salary varies based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
