Georgia Tech's Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) division manages campus physical space, environmental data, and decision-making platforms, while the university's broader Data Analytics programs span interdisciplinary master's degrees, industrial engineering, and research groups Job Summary Business Analysts evaluate business processes, identify opportunities for improvement through technology solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements. They analyze data, develop functional specifications, and facilitate communication between business units and Information Technology teams to ensure successful project outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct interviews, workshops, and reviews to elicit, clarify, and validate business needs, objectives, and constraints for Information Technology projects and initiatives. Develop and maintain business requirements documentation, including user stories, use cases, process flows, and functional specifications, to guide Information Technology development and implementation. Analyze and model data, workflows, and systems to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhancement in alignment with business goals. Facilitate communication and collaboration between business users, Information Technology teams, and project stakeholders to ensure shared understanding, alignment, and successful project outcomes. Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility studies to evaluate proposed Information Technology solutions, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies for decision-making. Support testing activities, user acceptance testing, and system validation to validate requirements, verify functionality, and ensure alignment with business needs and expectations. Provide input on Information Technology solution design, configuration, and implementation, ensuring that business requirements are met, and solutions deliver value and address key business challenges. Stay informed about industry trends, technology innovations, and best practices in business analysis, applying continuous learning and knowledge sharing to drive process improvement and professional growth. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, and systems to enable effective Information Technology solutions and improvements. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Educational Requirements Required Qualifications Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience Two or more years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications (continued) Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Customer-focused mindset with experience supporting service improvement efforts and improving user experiences through technology, process optimization, or digital solutions. Familiarity with business process automation platforms, workflow automation technologies, or low-code/no-code solutions. Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements for technology, data, or process improvement initiatives. Experience supporting system integrations, APIs, or data exchange initiatives between business applications. Experience working with operational or enterprise data, including data collection, data quality improvement, data standardization, and reporting. Experience supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation activities, and change adoption efforts. Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts, spatial data, or GIS-enabled business processes. Experience with Power BI and Tableau are a huge plus. GIS related applications are also a great bonus to have. This position has a heavy emphasis on data gathering, data visualization and API Integrations.

Skills in data organization and analysis, problem solving, systems documentation and report writing as applied within assigned system(s) is required as are skills in cross communication between functional user and technical groups.
